Book Review: "Fugitive Telemetry" (The Murderbot Diaries, #6) by Martha Wells

Our favorite snarky SecUnit, Murderbot, finds itself reluctantly investigating a murder on the supposedly peaceful Preservation Station. A dead body appears, and Murderbot suspects the shady GrayCris corporation might be involved.

A Whodunit with a Twist

Fugitive Telemetry is a classic whodunit mystery with a sci-fi twist. Murderbot teams up with the station's security, trading snarky remarks as they clash personalities and perspectives. It's an entertaining read featuring an amateur sleuth.

Snark and Substance

While the mystery is engaging, it's Murderbot's signature snark that truly stands out. Wells combines wit with vulnerability, as Murderbot grapples with existential questions of identity and purpose.

The Verdict

Fugitive Telemetry may not be the strongest Murderbot Diaries entry, but it's still enjoyable. The mystery kept me guessing, the action kept me engaged, and Murderbot's commentary kept me chuckling. It’s a nice palate cleanser reminding us why we love this hero.
